The Legacy Club

What is the Legacy Club? The Legacy Club is a special group of Licking Land Trust supporters who have made a lasting commitment to land conservation in Central Ohio by naming the Trust as a beneficiary in their estate plans. The Legacy Club is a way for us to recognize these thoughtful friends who are making such an extraordinary contribution to the Licking Land Trust’s future. The group includes those supporters who have named the Trust as a beneficiary in a will, trust, retirement plan, or life insurance policy. All gifts are greatly appreciated – there is no minimum amount for membership in The Legacy Club.

Contact Us. If you have already included the Trust in your estate plans, we encourage you to contact us as indicated below to share your commitment, in part so that we can discuss any specific preferences you may have for the use of your gift. Alternatively, if you would like to explore the possibility of including the Trust in your estate plans, we would be happy to serve as a resource for you and/or your advisors, with no obligation on your part.

Please contact Licking Land Trust Board member, Greg Sharkey, at gsharkey@tnc.org or (614) 787-4739 to discuss any questions you may have, to explore gift vehicles, or to inform us that you have included the Trust in your plans.

How to Include the Licking Land Trust. There are several different vehicles you may want to choose from in making an estate provision for the Licking Land Trust. When naming the Trust as a beneficiary in a will or trust, the correct legal designation is “The Licking Land Trust, a nonprofit organization, organized and existing under the laws of the State of Ohio, with current principal business address of 128 South Main Street, PO Box 196, Granville, OH 43023; Tax ID number 31-1284110.”

When naming the Trust on a life insurance or retirement plan beneficiary designation form, please use as much of the above information as it practical in the space provided and consult your plan custodian, insurance representative or professional advisor to ensure that you have provided sufficient specifics on the form.

Benefits of The Legacy Club

• Personalized Certificate of Membership

• Special listing in our Annual Report of Donors

• Seeing your charitable legacy fulfilled – conserving green space for future generations

Your estate commitment really can serve as an inspiration for others in our community to do likewise. Nevertheless, for those supporters who do not want us to publish your name as a member of The Legacy Club, we are happy to honor you wish for anonymity. But we do encourage you to notify the Trust of your thoughtful commitment.

Once again, Licking Land Trust Board member Greg Sharkey will be pleased to assist you with questions on including the Trust in your estate plans. Greg may be reached at gsharkey@tnc.org or (614) 787-4739.
